Another Sunday, Another Naive Weekly — Observations From The Internet Wilderness.
Good morning,
For the past 3.5 years, I have only missed one newsletter edition. It is an absurd commitment. I’ve prioritized sending this newsletter through sickness, Uno’s birth, holidays, celebrations, and workload peaks.
I was afraid that if I skipped one edition, I would stop sending the newsletter for good. It sounds silly, and fortunately, the fear has evaporated. Now I’m convinced that Naive Weekly is something I’ll keep doing for 10, 20, or 50 years.
With this realization, it is time to find a sustainable rhythm, so I’ll start taking breaks during the year. The first rest begins today and lasts until the end of July, so the next time you’ll hear from me is on August 7.

Get In Loser, We’re Queering the Map
In the current form of Naive Weekly, I provide limited context to the projects I include. It is a deliberate decision as I believe it stimulates your agency and provides the websites an opportunity to introduce themselves. However, if I were to present the websites, I would take inspiration from Joel Humphries lovely prologue about Queering the Map.
Welcome to My Thousand Funerals
Are.na is an eternal inspiration for Naive Weekly: it is like a digital filing cabinet for your discoveries. For a long time, Are.na felt incomprehensive, so it took years until it became a place I visit daily. On Are.na, the drawers are called channels, and I spend hours going through all the treasures in a single channel, wondering about the connections someone else had in mind when assembling their discoveries. So, I adore this blog post where Miaoye Que narrates her channel “Welcome to my thousand funerals,” and maybe it helps you understand why I cherish Are.na.
Logic(s): The Next Chapter
Logic Magazine launched in the slipstream of the 2016 US election and soon established itself as one of the most refreshing contributors to tech criticism. Adept writers seem to spiral towards the magazine, so exploring the individual contributors opens many wonderful observations about technology. Therefore, I’m delighted to read that, beginning from January 2023, Logic will become the first queer Black and Asian tech magazine, and I hope they’ll pave the way for many more.
