Dear reader
We went to Hydra, again, a tiny island located two hours by boat from Athens. It is our fourth time there. It is becoming a family sanctuary: a familiar destination where we know where to eat, swim, walk, and shop. There are no cars, so there are no reminders that neither of us drives. We once tried the water taxi, so we don’t have to do that again. Instead, time passes softly.
On this visit, there were wildflowers everywhere. The island was glowing yellow. It’s lovely how colors are like time stamps: Hydra in January is green, Hydra in April is yellow, Hydra in September is bronze. I’m still foreign to many of the local flowers, but I aspire to one day be able to describe the year through when the flowers bloom.
Happy Mimosa Week.
With care
Kristoffer
