Another Sunday, Another Naive Weekly - Observations From The Internet Wilderness.
Hi friends,
I’m keeping it short this week. Hope you are having a good Sunday wherever you are.

Internet Black Hole
Photos
First Google launched their sweet Super Bowl commercial where a widowed man recalls moments with his wife. Then it turns out that people accidentally were able to download strangers’ photos on Google Photos in the fall due to a bug. Somehow I thought that would be enough for one newsletter bullet, but of course I had to discover Apple’s iPad ad promising people to make any photo perfect by erasing people. Weird photo week.Google Maps Hacks
Artist Simon Weckert found a clever to trick Google Maps. Putting 99 smart phones in a handcart, he tricked Google Maps to believe the roads were full of cars, resulting in a virtual traffic jam. As a result, drivers using Google Maps as navigation were directed onto other roads and Simon could walk peacefully down the street, dragging his 99 fake-cars behind him.
Amazon Dating
Remember to read the comments when you browse this faux Amazon dating site. The people behind clearly went all-in and even hired micro-influencers to promote the site.Hey.com
The founders of Basecamp just announced Hey, a product/service that aims to bring back our love for email by battling all the spam, marketing automation and tracking. You get early access by sending them a love-letter to email.
Roadside Flower
This is another project by one of the Amazon Dating people. Simply copy this link as a reply whenever you need to say excuse me, what the fuck? The project gets extra points for the possibility of claiming an @excuseme.wtf email.
Readers’ Corner
Ianthe and Sarper both recommended me to check-out John Berger’s BBC TV show of the same name as the book, Ways of Seeing. It is made in the 70s, it is four episodes long and it is something you won’t find today.
Aydo made me aware that the ending of the newsletter sounded slightly passive aggressive, as if only 12 people were kind enough to be paying subscribers. I have changed it slightly this week, hope it is better. Please know I appreciate you all, paying or non-paying, subscribing or unsubscribing.
Also, I’m definitely going to write a newsletter on e-foraging. Thanks to Declan for the observation.
Naive Weekly
Hi, I’m Kristoffer and you have just read Naive Weekly - Observations From The Internet Wilderness.
Last week this newsletter was sent to 280 subscribers. 12 people are crazy enough to chip in every month/year to support me making time to write this newsletter: Nikolaj, Antal, Søren, Dries, Mikkel, Tina, Aydo, Lukas, Hans, Csongor, Ida Marie & Angela!
Photograph by Ana Santl. Did you see her photos in Dezeen and Ignant this past weeks? I’m biased, but I am a fan.
