Another Sunday, Another Naive Weekly — Observations From The Internet Wilderness.
Sunday, September 19, 2021.

Good morning,

Sunday evening Uno and my grandmother were dancing together. They were picking apples, squatting, and rocking from side to side. Both fully engaged in moving their bodies to the rhythm of the music. It was wonderful.

Two of the people who have, and are, shaping me the most dancing together across generations. Uno 13 months old, my grandmother 80 years old. Should Uno live to reach 80 years, this was the dance across 160 years.

With care,

Kristoffer

FIELD NOTES

Server Farm

James Bridle’s proposal to build a computer out of, and in collaboration with, plants, and other critters, might sound like pure speculation. However, related projects such as Data Garden, Xenobots and Fungar, make me believe the nature computer might work at the prototype level. What a time to be alive.

Camera Offset Project

Cute little website raising awareness about the energy use of our video calls. According to the website, going camera-off reduces the carbon footprint of a video call by 96%, which in itself is a good enough reason to second-guess whether video-on should be the default.

Landlord Tech Watch

Most technology products and services made to make homes smarter, safer, and more convenient, are designed for landlords, not tenants. This site does a solid job of explaining the potential harms for the tenants.
